Nicholas Walsh as The Rock Star
Nick has made a career of music for the course of his entire life. He’s a Juno Award winning, Gold selling artist with his former band Slik Toxik, and currently performs with Classic Albums Live. Nicholas sings, produces and writes for his original project Famous Underground. Nick is right at home on the stage and looks forward to performing the role of Jason ‘The Rock Star’. The character was written specifically for him.
Lexi Soha as The Groupie
Lexi Soha is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University’s School of Drama in Pittsburgh, and was a finalist of CBC’s first season of Triple Sensation. Bilingual in both French and English, she most recently appeared Dee Snider’s Rock’n Roll Christmas Tale at the Winter Garden Theatre and in the Théâtre français de Toronto’s production of Les Zinspirés 3D. Other theatre credits include: Salt-Water Moon (Toronto Fringe Festival), A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Billy the Kid, Jack and the Beanstalk, and Bus Stop. Lexi sings with Classic Albums Live, appearing in its Fleetwood Mac Rumours concerts across Canada and the United States, and has also worked as a dubbing actor in French for international films. Stokes The MC as The Rapper
Stokes is a film, television and radio personality. Stokes has been nominated for several Much Music awards and currently hosts a Sunday night radio show on iLive-radio. Stokes is constantly performing and creating new music. When it came to auditioning for GIG, producer, Craig Martin says: “The instant that Stokes walked through the door, I knew I had found the perfect host for GIG. He had me laughing as soon as we shook hands. My kids and I spent the rest of the evening grooving to his videos – all of which are easily found online!”
Nicole Robinson as The Diva
Nicole began her musical studies in Opera at The Royal Conservatory of Music. She tours and performs with The University of Toronto Gospel Choir and sings with acclaimed artists Tanika Charles and Zaki Ibrahim. Nicole also adds ‘songwriter’ to her list of achievements. GIG producer, Craig Martin, hired Nicole without having even met her. “She sent me an MP3 and as soon as I heard her voice I knew I had found The Diva.”
Tiera Watts as Belle
Tiera hails from Winnipeg and is a graduate of the Randolph Academy for the Performing Arts. Post graduation she has had the opportunity to work with the Lower Ossington Theatre and Starvox Entertainment. Tiera calls GIG “A dream GIG”, and wowed the cast with a riveting performance of one of the show’s feature songs – “Painkiller”. Tiera’s performance transforms from secretary to supernova.
Pat Kelly as The Veteran Agent
Pat truly is a veteran in the music business. He’s an accomplished songwriter, producer, multi-instrumentalist and author who has been performing professionally for over 3 decades. Born unknowingly into the music industry as his mother was a singer/actress (Dr. No) and his uncle was the first all night DJ in Canada (Johnny Williams), Pat states he was “raised by wolves and nurtured by vultures.” Pat is GIG’s voice of experience.
William Alexander Doyle as The Upstart Agent
William is a graduate of St. Clair’s College Music Theatre program. He’s a mainstay at the Lower Ossington Theatre in Toronto where he’s performed in productions of ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’, ‘Cabaret’ and ‘Rent’. William brought the right amount of smirk to his GIG role as the Upstart Agent.
Maya Kiltron – Ensemble
The Huffington Post listed Maya as ‘an artist to watch.’ Maya is a DJ, singer and classically trained violinist with regular shows in NYC. Maya put the Ensemble together herself and work-shopped them into a finely tuned machine.
Danik Mcafee – Ensemble
All the way from Quebec, Danik has been performing in Toronto for the past three years. After graduating from The Randolph Academy he has been in many musical productions including “Jesus Christ Superstar” as King Herod at The LOT, The Emcee in “Cabaret”with First Act Productions for which he is nominated for “Oustanding Performance In a Musical” for the next Theatre Awards 2015.
Leah Canali – Ensemble
Leah Allyce Canali is a Toronto based singer/performer. A native Bostonian, she graduated from Northeastern University with a degree in theatre performance. She is the front woman for soul/Motown band, The St. Royals and has a bi-weekly residency at Statlers piano bar. Past performances include: Celebrity Cruiselines, Pride Toronto, Gary Musick Nashville, Spirit Entertainment, Pure Energy Entertainment, Boston Red Sox/NE Patriots (anthem singer) and the Official Inaugural party for President Barack Obama (Boston).
Lucas Porter- Ensemble
Lucas is a graduate of the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in NYC. Lucas works as both a choreographer and an actor. A peak at his credits include ‘Peanuts’, ‘Grease’ and ‘Disney World Parade’. Lucas ably goes from dance to vocal to acting and is looking forward to bringing all of these talents to the GIG stage.
Lindsay Clark plays keyboards and put the band together.
Mike Thomas plays drums and is very entertaining to watch.
Tara McLeod wails.
Brendan McMillan plays bass and this is a good thing.
